Telford MP Meets Royal Mail as Postal Delays Continue to Hit Residents

Shaun meets with Royal Mail

Shaun Davies, Member of Parliament for Telford, has stepped up pressure on Royal Mail after weeks of disruption to local postal services, meeting representatives in person today to demand urgent improvements.

Since early January, Shaun Davies MP has been contacted by large numbers of constituents reporting delayed or missing post, with residents raising serious concerns about the impact on important correspondence such as medical appointments.

Shaun spoken in parliament on the issue, has written to Ofcom and raised the issue directly with Royal Mail, where he met with them face-to-face today to push for action.

At the meeting, Royal Mail representatives acknowledged that the current backlog in Telford is unacceptable. They confirmed that steps are being taken to address the delays, including recruiting additional staff at local delivery centres to help restore normal service. While some minor improvements have been seen during the last week, Shaun Davies MP said significant problems remain and many residents are still being affected.

Royal Mail has asked to receive details of individual cases to help resolve outstanding issues. Shaun is therefore urging constituents who have experienced serious delays and are willing for their experiences to be shared to get in touch with him.

Shaun will continue pressing Royal Mail until a reliable postal service is fully restored for residents across Telford.
