Telford & Wrekin Council have announced plans for a new local Armed Forces Hub. This will be a one-stop shop for Armed Forces personnel and their families to access the support they deserve.
Shaun is pushing for it to be located in Telford, where 4,000 households have veterans, above the West Midlands average. He has shared his views with the council based on conversations with local veterans’ – including from his recent survey.
Government actions increase support for the UK Armed Forces include:
- 6% pay rise for armed forces personnel
- Roll out of the electronic Veterans ID Cards
- Reducing Veterans Homelessness Programme: +£3.5m
- LGBT veterans financial recognition scheme
- Rolling out a program of homes for heroes.
