Shaun Davies MP recently visited Sainsbury’s in Telford Town Centre to present long-serving colleague Sandra Kingscott with a MP Community Champion Award.
Sandra, who had worked at Sainsbury’s for 29 years and had been their community champion for over a decade, retired on Friday after many years of supporting the Telford community. Throughout her time in the role, she supported countless local initiatives and most recently worked with Shaun on his Easter Egg Appeal for looked‑after children across Telford.
Shaun commented “Sandra is a brilliant example of what community spirit looks like in Telford. Her commitment to supporting local families has made a real difference in Telford, and this reward is a small way of recognising that.
“These awards are about shining light on the brilliant people that make Telford the place it is – a big thank you to Sandra for being part of that.”
Adrian Clark, Store Manager, commented “Sandra has been a much loved and highly active member of our family of colleagues here at Telford for 29 years and along the way has really touched the hearts and lives of so many of our team.
“We have been blessed to have Sandra’s skills as our Community Champion for over 10 years now during which time she has made a huge difference to our local community. On behalf of the whole store team, I wish her a long and happy retirement”
Telford’s MP regularly presents outstanding members of the Telford community with an award to recognise their brilliant work within the town – known as Telford Community Champions.
