To help ensure the voices of people in Telford are heard during the ongoing national healthcare reforms, Telford’s MP has launched an important survey on local NHS services including GP’s, dentists, social care and hospital services.

The survey which will help inform the Government’s new 10 Year Health Plan for England, is available for residents to complete from today until Friday 14 February at 5pm.

Shaun commented: “It is absolutely vital that residents in Telford share their ideas for the future of our NHS, and make sure our voice is heard. Whether you have struggled to register with a dentist, get a GP appointment, or you are on a long waiting list for a hospital appointment, please tell me about the challenges you have experienced.
“The plans for NHS reform should not be top-down or led from behind a desk in Westminster. They must be built in partnership with the people who use our NHS and the staff who work in it.”

Launching the Change NHS public engagement, Prime Minister Keir Starmer said: “We have a clear plan to fix the health service, but it’s only right that we hear from the people who rely on the NHS every day to have their say and shape our plan as we deliver it. Together we can build a healthcare system that puts patients first and delivers the care that everyone deserves.”

Shaun added: “I am fully aware of the serious challenges we face here in Telford. Over the past six months, I have addressed growing concerns about our local NHS and the critical services at the Princess Royal Hospital (PRH). Safeguarding these essential services is not just a priority—it’s non-negotiable. I’ve pressed the issue in Parliament, met directly with the Health Minister and organised discussions with all Shropshire’s MPs for the coming weeks. Telford residents deserve nothing less than my full commitment to fighting for the healthcare they rely on.”
“I am also in direct contact with NHS Shropshire to highlight the concerns many of you have shared regarding the quality of care and services at the Princess Royal Hospital, the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, and local GP practices.”

Shaun will use the insights from Telford’s local NHS survey to inform the Government’s 10 Year Health Plan, due to be published in the Spring, and will deliver the unprecedented long-term reform needed to turn the NHS around.
