Telford is continuing to attract ambitious, fast-growing businesses, with leading AI and digital services company Coforge officially opening its new office in Station Quarter.

Shaun Davies MP, Member of Parliament for Telford, was recently invited to the office opening and welcomed Coforge’s decision to invest in the town, bringing new opportunities for employment, skills and economic growth.

Speaking following the visit, Shaun Davies MP said: “It is always fantastic to see fast-growing companies investing here in Telford. They bring investment, recognition and, most importantly, local employment.

“I cannot tell you how proud it makes me to see businesses like Coforge choosing to make Telford their home. Every local business matters. Every employer, entrepreneur and organisation that invests in our town plays a part in putting Telford on the map.

“Coforge is a leading AI company with such an exciting future ahead. As they say, ‘AI is here and AI is real’ and they are helping to make it happen right here in Telford.”

Coforge’s investment comes at an exciting time for the town, with Station Quarter continuing to develop as an important location for businesses and employment.

The company has also demonstrated its commitment to supporting young people in Telford, donating a laptop to all 12 students who took part in Shaun Davies MP’s summer school programme. The laptops will provide a valuable resource to support the student’s education, ambitions and future, demonstrating the positive contribution businesses can make to the wider local community.

Shaun Davies MP added: “I want to thank Mark Robinson and John Speight for inviting me to the opening and for the incredible support Coforge has already shown to our young people. Supporting our young people and giving them the tools they need to succeed is something I care deeply about, and this generous donation will make a real difference.

“I am looking forward to working with the wider Coforge Telford team as they continue to grow and become an important part of our local business community.

“Coforge’s decision to invest in Telford is fantastic news. I am incredibly proud to see innovative companies recognising what our town has to offer, and I look forward to seeing the opportunities this investment creates for local people.”

Mark Robinson, Vice President at Coforge said: “I was proud to support Shaun’s Summer School initiative and to contribute laptops that will help empower young people as they learn, grow and explore new opportunities. Meeting the students was truly inspiring. Their enthusiasm, thoughtful questions and level of engagement highlighted the incredible potential within the group and it will be exciting to see what they achieve both during the programme and beyond.

“At Coforge, we are committed to investing in the communities where we live and work, so it was a privilege to support this initiative. A special thank you to John Speight for helping make this possible.”
