Shaun Davies MP Encourages Telford Businesses to Give Young People a Chance

IMGM1578

Shaun Davies MP is encouraging businesses across Telford to give young people a chance to start their careers, with up to £3,000 in support available for eligible new hires.

The Government’s new Youth Jobs Grant is designed to support employers with recruiting and training young people, while helping to tackle high levels of youth unemployment.

Businesses across Telford can access up to £3,000 when they recruit a young person aged 18–24 who has been unemployed and receiving Universal Credit for six months.

Payments are made in two stages:

• £1,800 once the new employee reaches two months in the role
• £1,200 after five months of employment

Other support is also available, including employer National Insurance relief for certain eligible hires.

Shaun believes that by working together, businesses can open more doors for young people and help them build bright futures.
